Who am I? – Sean Struckmeyer
I’m the owner and lead inspector at Tech Inspect Home Services LLC, based just outside of New Melle in St. Charles County. I’m a husband to Amanda and a proud dad to three kids, our daughter and twin boys. Life? Yeah, it’s busy. But good busy. Many years ago, My wife and I chose this area to raise our family after a single drive-through convinced us: this is home, and it is.

The Story Behind Tech Inspect
Before home inspections, I spent years in IT—starting in a Help Desk position at Scott Air Force Base and later as an IT Manager at Boeing in Hazelwood. That background arms me with strong analytical, data-driven thinking, excellent time and project management skills, and clarity in presenting technical info, skills I carry into every inspection.
A layoff from IT shifted my perspective. I didn’t just want another job; I wanted a purpose. Home inspections felt like the perfect next chapter. With each piece of knowledge I absorbed, I was hooked (fishing pun intended). Thanks to the support of Amanda and the kids, I launched Tech Inspect and finally made the dream of owning a business a reality.
Growing up, I was surrounded by home construction, my dad remodeled the entire house, which included 2 additions (1 with a new basement), decks, etc. Then since purchasing our first home, a Ranch built in the Mid-70’s, I’ve gotten a lot of hands-on experience in maintaining a home, fixing things that just weren’t right.
Where did the name ‘Tech Inspect’ come from?
My wife came up with the name, and it stuck. It’s catchy, easy to remember, and a perfect fit for my background in IT and use of technology on inspections. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to bring advanced technology, software, and tools into every inspection. My clients are making one of the biggest investments of their lives, and I believe they deserve the best. That’s why I invest in top-tier tools and technology: to deliver thorough inspections, the best client experience, and the clearest results possible.

I’m driven by a fascination with building science, the evolution of construction methods, materials, and codes. It’s like solving a life-size puzzle: every detail matters. My mission is to inspect how those parts are working together in your home and translate that insight into clear, practical guidance for the homeowner. Honestly, I am truly enjoying this role in life!
More than an inspector, I think of myself as a Home Consultant and Partner for Homeowners. My role is to inspect, educate, guide, advise, and provide support, not just check boxes. I remember my own home-buying experience: while the inspection was good, the report didn’t meet my expectations and wasn’t very useful after the initial inspection. Simply, I didn’t know what I didn’t know, and I’m still learning, every day. Today’s homeowners deserve more, better clarity, richer insights, and digital-quality reporting.
