How to File a Warranty Claim
Claims are processed 24/7 through Elite's online portal. Obtain estimates from licensed contractors showing the issue, parts needed, and labor costs. Submit your claim online with the required documentation. No phone pre-approvals needed — just straightforward, professional service.
Making a Buy-Back Claim
Submit a written or electronic request to InterNACHI at members@nachi.org within 90 days of closing. Include documentation of the defect, your original inspection report, and proof of the issue. You are responsible for applicable real estate fees and commissions.

The Buy-Back serves as a home buyer's ultimate safety net. This rare but powerful guarantee ensures you won't be financially devastated if something catastrophic slips through the inspection process. While InterNACHI inspectors are highly trained and thorough, this guarantee provides the ultimate backstop for your investment.
Excluded from Buy-Back: Defects that developed after the inspection, items not required to be inspected per InterNACHI Standards of Practice, issues disclosed in the inspection report, homes that have decreased in market value, investment/vacation/rental properties, homes not listed with a licensed agent, and situations where HOA approval cannot be obtained. See the InterNACHI T&C's.
The right inspection for where you are
The two client protection programs complement each other perfectly to provide comprehensive protection.
WARRANTY = REPAIR
The Premium warranty reimburses repair costs for covered items like a failed HVAC, plumbing leak, electrical problem, or roof leak — with limits from $1,150 to $2,000 per claim (up to $3,000 total). The unique 5-year roof leak coverage provides extended protection long after you've settled in.
Buy-Back = Catastrophic Defect
The Buy-Back Guarantee is your safety net for worst-case scenarios where a major structural, electrical, or plumbing defect was completely missed. This ultimate protection ensures you won't be financially devastated by a catastrophic oversight that makes your home unlivable or economically impractical to repair.
Together = Complete Protection
These programs provide comprehensive coverage from minor repairs to major problems — complete peace of mind throughout your home buying journey and well beyond.

Frequently asked questions
What makes the Premium Plan different?
The Premium Plan offers industry-leading 5-year roof leak coverage, higher coverage limits per claim ($1,150–$2,000 depending on the system), an aggregate limit of $3,000, and includes an 11-month follow-up inspection. It provides superior protection compared to standard warranty plans.
How does the 5-year roof coverage work?
Roof leak repairs are covered for 5 years from your inspection date, not just 90–120 days like other systems. Repairs over $250 are covered up to $500 per occurrence. This extended protection is unique to the Premium Plan and provides long-term peace of mind.
How do I know if my inspection is covered?
All full buyer home inspections performed by Tech Inspect Home Services LLC are automatically registered for Premium coverage. You'll receive confirmation documentation with your inspection report, including your warranty certificate and claim instructions. Exclusions Apply. Non-eligible properties include non-primary residences, investment properties, and new construction. See the plan T&C's for complete details.
How do I file a warranty claim?
Visit the Elite Consumer Warranty claims portal online 24/7. Get estimates from licensed contractors detailing the issue, parts needed, and labor costs. Submit through the secure online form with your documentation. Elite's experienced team processes claims promptly and professionally.
Can I choose my own repair contractor?
Yes. You select your own licensed contractors for all repairs. Elite may request multiple estimates for comparison and could arrange for their own evaluation if needed, but you maintain control over who performs the work.
What's the difference between the warranty and the buy-back?
The Premium warranty reimburses repair costs for covered items that fail (ranging from $1,150 to $2,000 per claim, up to $3,000 total, with 5-year roof coverage). The buy-back is for extreme situations where a major defect was completely missed, and InterNACHI purchases your home at the original price. They work together to provide complete protection.
Is this the same as a home warranty?
No. The Premium Plan has a $3,000 aggregate limit across all claims. You can file multiple claims as needed until that total is reached, with individual claim limits ranging from $1,150 to $2,000 depending on the system or component. It is not a home warranty or insurance policy — it specifically covers items that were inspected and operational at the time of inspection.
Where can I read the complete terms?
Full terms and conditions are available from InterNACHI.org and EliteConsumerWarranty.com. Terms, coverage limits, and processes are subject to change, so always review the current documentation provided with your inspection.
Will my personal information be sold or shared?
No. InterNACHI and Elite do not sell or exploit client data. Your privacy is fully protected. These programs maintain strict data security and don't integrate with third-party systems that could compromise your information.
